Fan-Cooled vs Liquid-Cooled EV Chargers – What’s the Difference?
Choosing the right EV charger starts with understanding its cooling system.
Fan-Cooled Chargers
- Best for AC and low-to-mid power DC charging. They are cost-effective, simple to maintain, and ideal for 7-40 kW AC/DC chargers and light commercial use. However, they are less suitable for high-power fast charging.
Liquid-Cooled Chargers
- Designed for high-power and ultra-fast DC charging. They support higher current, use lighter cables, perform better in hot climates like Singapore, South East Asia and offer longer component life.

- Providing end-to-end installation, maintenance, and support
*The ECCG will be available until 31 December 2026, or until 3,500 chargers have been approved for co-funding, whichever is earlier

- Charger system
